Move over Docker, there’s a new kid in town! Podman is a container engine, developed by Red Hat, that’s designed to be a drop-in Docker replacement. Podman is now the default container engine used by Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and it allows you to develop, run, and manage OCI containers on Linux — all without a daemon! Podman also has the ability to share containers and pods with Kubernetes, as well as create systemd containers and pods.In this course, we will learn what containers are and why we use them; how to manage containers, pods, and images using Podman; how Podman interoperates with Kubernetes and systemd; and how to manage Podman containers using Cockpit. When you have finished this course, you will have mastered the knowledge and skills necessary to manage containers using Podman, Skopeo, and Buildah.
