A list of Udemy’s 250 most popular online courses. Combined, they’ve gathered 93.2 million enrollments.

Udemy Top Courses

Udemy is one of the largest online platforms for learning job skills. According to the company, they have 77 million registered users. An analysis by Class Central shows they’ve launched over 260,000 courses since 2010.

The COVID-19 pandemic boosted the fortune of many online providers. Udemy was no exception. In 2020, propelled by the pandemic, they raised $123 million and increased their valuation by over $1 billion.

In 2022, the situation changed. Overall, the company raised ~$300 million at a valuation over $3 billion. But Udemy’s market cap has significantly fallen, like that of many other online course platforms.

Between 2022 and early 2024, its stock price remained fairly constant, but has since declined somewhat with news of layoffs, declining instructor payouts, and 2025 announcements of a projected revenue growth of just 1% and a new CEO.

Analyzing Udemy’s catalog with my colleague @Archisha, we discovered that they currently have over 260K courses. You may find a complete analysis of Udemy’s catalog here.

Combined, Udemy’s courses have gathered more than 830 million enrollments. What I found most surprising is that the median enrollment is only 208, which means that half of Udemy’s courses don’t reach 208 learners.

Currently, there are 904 courses with over 100K enrollments and 10 courses with over a million enrollments.

Do Udemy courses satisfy the Pareto 80/20 principle? I found that Udemy’s top 20% courses by enrollment account for 91% of all enrollments.

250 Top Udemy Courses

Here’s a quick summary of 250 Udemy top courses based on the number of enrollments:

  • Enrollments range from 216K to 2M. There are 10 courses with over 1M enrollments
  • Combined, they account for 93.2M enrollments, with an average of 372K enrollments
  • 47 courses are free and 203 are paid
  • 94% of the courses are in English.
