During the 2020 Black Friday sale, Udemy began actively promoting their Udemy Pro subscription to students in some markets. Currently, it only appears to be available to US students (existing or prospective).

Udemy Pro first appeared to select students during the 2019 Black Friday sale as an early beta release. It has seen spotted availability since, and according to some Redditors, they were met with an error stating that the service was not open for enrollment.

Udemy Pro is the first consumer subscription offering for Udemy and costs $19.99 a month. At the time of writing, it only encompasses a small curated collection of 24 courses related to obtaining different IT certifications.

Students can access their courses in a “Programs” dashboard and have access to the QA as a regular student would. However, direct messaging of the instructor or TA seems to have been removed.

This very well could be yet another example of Udemy testing the waters for a full-featured subscription model. Currently, the closest thing offered is Udemy for Business which requires a minimum of 5 accounts at $360 per user per month for access to around 5000 courses.
