"Exploring the Tourism Business" is an English taught introductory course for freshmen majoring in tourism and also for anyone who is interested in tourism. In this course, we will learn the key component sectors of the tourism industry, including accommodation, transportation, attraction, intermediaries, event and the public sector. We will discuss the impacts of tourism, including economic, environmental, and socio-cultural impact of tourism. Then we will talk about sustainable tourism. Finally we will look at the future of tourism. The learning and teaching methods for this course include lecture, guided reading and interviews with tourism professionals which provide an insider view of the different sectors of the tourism industry.
《走进旅游业》是为旅游管理专业大一学生开设的全英文授课的专业基础课，旨在让学生对旅游业的结构和主要分支产业（包括景区、住宿、餐饮、交通、节事、中间商、公共服务等）建立初步认识，掌握旅游学的基本理论，了解旅游业的发展现状与趋势，理解旅游业各分支行业的特征及其对专业人才的要求。
