Information literacy is a comprehensive set of abilities that include reflective discovery of information, understanding of how information is produced and evaluated, and using information to create new knowledge and participate ethically in learning communities (ACRL, 2016). Information literacy courses discuss information-related methods and skills. These methods and techniques will benefit you throughout your life, no matter your current age or your professional background.
At the beginning of the course, some senior professors and some students expressed their understanding of information literacy. You can then check on your own your overall competencies related to information literacy.
Course topics include information resources, information retrieval, finding facts and figures, open access, search engines, scholarly communities and norms, personal knowledge management, and more.
This course is designed to improve your information literacy and support you in obtaining accurate, authoritative, and valuable information in study, life, and academic research.
